St Ives is situated on the banks of the river Great Ouse, near Huntingdon, the birth place of Oliver Cromwell, in Cambridgeshire England.

It has its roots in Saxon history, although it achieved fame in medieval times for its international fairs. Today it is a quiet market town with a population of approximately 16,000 and covering an area of just over 1000 hectares.

There are many possible walks around St Ives. Here are a few recommendations.
Green: St Ives Town Centre
A short walk around the centre of the town exploring some of the alleys, shops and historical sites.
Blue: St Ives Environ
A short walk (3 miles, 5km) around the central part of St Ives, including places of interest immediately surrounding the town centre.
Red: Three Villages
A circular walk of approximately 11km (7 miles) from St Ives taking in the Hemingfords and Houghton-Wyton, returning along the thicket path.

There are public moorings at St Ives Quay (with a water point) and The Waites. Moorings are also available for Patrons at The Dolphin Hotel.
