Day Boat RoutesOur narrowboat day boat hire lets you meander through the Middle Level Navigations from our Cambridgeshire base, along the tranquil Fenland Waterways. Route 1 - Heading eastthrough the town of March Eastwards towards the village of Upwell. Pass through the Marmont Priory lock and the village unfolds before you. Upwell is one of the most picturesque villages in Fenland. Stop at The Five Bells 01945 772222 for a pub lunch or travel on to Outwell basin for a picnic at the former junction of the Wisbech Canal before winding (turning) your boat and heading back to our base at March. (approx 6hrs 30mins cruising time return) |

Route 2 - Heading westAlternatively head west passing Floods Ferry Marina Park and crossing the Greenwich Meridian before arriving at Ashline Lock and the town of Whittlesey. Wind your boat above the lock, picnic in Manor Fields before commencing the return journey to March. Mini Break RoutesTurn the experience into a 2 day narrowboat mini break (max 4 adults 2 children) and continue from Outwell basin to the village of Nordelph, wind the boat and journey back to the Crown Lodge hotel (01945 773391) for dinner or a bar snack. Alternatively you can dine aboard. Wake to the sounds of ducks and moorhens before commencing your journey back. There will be time to visit the town of March before returning to our base. |
